Abstract

On September 28 1990, a group of birders from the U.S. and the authors discovered a Wilson's Phalarope, Phalaropus tricolor, at Buccoo Marsh, Tobago, West Indies. We studied the bird at length and later that evening relocated and photographed it. The sighting constitutes the first record of Wilson's Phalarope for Tobago and one of the few records for the entire Caribbean Basin.
