Abstract

Two recent studies of the aquatic fauna of certain areas in the southwestern peninsula of Trinidad have yielded specimens of two species of freshwater characid fishes previously unrecorded for Trinidad. They are Brycon siebenthalae Eigenmann (1912) and Triportheus elongatus (Gunther 1864), both belonging to the family Characidae, sub-family Bryconinae (Géry, 1977).
