Abstract

Christopher Starr reviews a rare biography of Charles William Beebe, world renowned naturalist. Carol Grant Gould’s treatment of the remarkable achievements is of particular relevance for Trinidad and Tobago. Beebe’s establishment of a research station at Simla was eventually incorporated into the Asa Wright Nature Center: the William Beebe Tropical Research Station.
